Ready for Odile - original figurative oil pastel

Maybe I will eventually do this one in oil paint or acrylic.  The Black Swan is a fascinating character and what a beautiful ballet "Swan Lake" is!  This piece is on 14 x 11" Pastelbord.  Thanks for stopping by!

On My Easel - oil pastel portrait sketch of a ballet dancer looking over her shoulder

Inspired by the ballet I saw last night, "The Firebird" by Ballet Austin, I sketched a ballerina looking back - and of course, I now have more ballet sketches from which to paint.  The ballet was lovely - I've seen lots of beautiful ballets over the years but never "The Firebird", so am really
thrilled!  Above is a picture of The Long Center where Ballet Austin performs.  The drawing is 8 x 6" on Pastel Premier board.  Thanks for looking!

Warm-Up - original oil pastel figurative drawing

These young girls - the three at the barre anyway - are warming up for their lesson.  I think the older girl was rehearsing in the adjacent studio.  This oil pastel is on Colourfix paper, 12 x 9".  Thanks for stopping by!

Preparations - original oil figurative painting by Connie Chadwell

This 8 x 8" painting on gessoed panel is composed of drawings from life that I combined into an arrangement.  Hmmmm.  I don't know, but I enjoyed it.  Seems like forever since I posted anything - with my injury still a problem - but much better - and painting for some shows, I've neglected my blog a bit.  But I'm back. Thanks for stopping by!  Sold
